An exquisitely crafted book of short stories and rhyming verse tailored to kids and adult children alike, “Magical Bedtime Stories” serves as a whimsical literary lullaby for the dreamer to-be.
These short stories and poems by Píaras Ó Cíonnaoíth are an enjoyable and entertaining collection that will bring a smile to the faces of readers. The stories are fascinating and imaginative, and each one entertains and conveys insightful and thoughtful messages.
Through lulling rhymes, melodious stanzas, and pleasant themes, the reader or listener is gently catapulted across the stars into lady moon's soothing embrace until they are sound asleep.
With a handful of stories and poems, Mr. O Cionnaoith reminded me of my childhood days; of time spent outside with cousins, friends, and neighborhood kids; of learning and exploring and wondering; of letting my imagination fly and creating worlds that no one could see but us kids.
Mr. O Cionnaoith is a new to me author. He's the first children's book author I've reviewed, and I'm honored that he asked if I would. This collection speaks to the inner-child in me, and beckoned my five year old to let the stories come to life in her head. It's fascinating to watch a child listen intently and you can see, in their eyes and their expression, their excitement for what's coming.
It isn't just that though. Mr. O Cionnaoith weaves core values into his writing: family values, compassion for others, relationships outside of the family. They're things I teach my own children and I'm happy they're able to hear/read them in stories like these.
Píaras Ó Cíonnaoíth is a poet and author who writes books for both children and adults. His positive and creative thinking, and his belief in the human spirit, make his books for children pleasant, interesting and exciting.
